A posh young businessman, Richard Mayhew, and his pretty but shallow fiancee are out to dinner when he sees a young woman in need of help. He leaves his fiancee and takes the young woman, Door, to his apartment to care for her. Soon, there is an ominous knock on the door and Richard is pulled into a world of intrigue, magic, danger, and alligators in the London sewers. Richard begins to disappear from the world he knows and is taken to the Neverwhere by Door. He longs to return home… Will he make it back?
